Gyms with Creche facilities

Work up a sweat while your little ones are cared for

Have you ever wanted to escape to the gym or an exercise class to get those endorphins pumping, only to remember that you’re a mum and have small children that follow you around? Well lucky for you we’ve found the best exercise facilities with creches and child play areas that will keep your little ones occupied and cared for while you work up a sweat.

Fernwood

Fernwood has been looking after women on their fitness journeys since 1989, and they proudly offer childcare services at their Tuggeranong location. They have a range of personal training options, scheduled classes or an open gym for you to access.

Next Gen

The creche at Next Gen in Lyneham accommodates children from three months to five years old and is run by qualified childcare professionals. You can swim or gym (or both) and even grab a coffee and post-workout meal at their fantastic café.

Ascend Strength and Fitness

Ascend in Gungahlin offers a wide range of classes, personal training sessions and boxing. The childcare area is packed full of fun distractions for your little ones to occupy themselves with.

Lakeside Leisure Centre

Get a few laps in the pool or join one of the many different group fitness classes that YMCA in Tuggeranong has to offer. Why not finish off with a sauna session too?

Crossfit Hume

Free child-minding services are available on specific days for all you CrossFit junkies. The creche is open during the Monday, Wednesday, and Friday classes at 9:30am where parents can get that hour of sanity and strength work in.

Canberra Fitness Centre

Canberra Fitness Centre in Mitchell provides a kids’ corner in their main gym where they can play within eyesight. This one is probably better for older kids who can play autonomously. However, Bump It Up is also a program within the centre, run by the lovely Jacqui and focuses on classes for pre- and post-natal women which is bub friendly.

Go Figure

The Tiny Tots corner at Go Figure in Queanbeyan allows your children to play in a safe and supervised environment. It’s available Monday to Friday 9am - 12pm, so you can get a morning workout in.

Gold’s Gym

Gold’s Gym has a diverse range of options for however you like to move your body. Group exercise and cycling studios, free weights, and plenty of space. A great kids club and creche is available for little humans while you do your thing, and they even have a smoothie bar...

Project Fit Mum

Whether it’s a one-on-one personal training session or joining in a group workout, Project Fit Mum will make sure you are supported in a safe and encouraging space. They have a small playpen which can be utilised for your little one whilst training.

Not ready to hand them over to someone just yet? That’s understandable!

Many of these locations also offer mums and bubs classes, so you can get some movement in with your little one by your side.

Doing something for yourself does not have to be hard. The first step is finding a facility that works for you, and there’s plenty of options in Canberra. No doubt you will leave feeling re-energised and in a positive mindset from moving your body, and ready to tackle the rest of the day with your little darlings.
