The Mother Hub: Where Families Find Complete Care
A new kind of healthcare, built around mothers, babies, and the families who love them.
For many families, finding the right healthcare can feel like piecing together a puzzle. You might see a GP here, a physio there, and a lactation consultant somewhere else, all while juggling the demands of new parenthood.
That’s exactly the gap The Mother Hub was created to fill.
Located in Deakin, The Mother Hub brings together an experienced team of health professionals under one roof, making it easier for women and families to access the care they need, when they need it.
“Our philosophy is simple, when care is connected, families thrive,” explains Medical Director Dr Sarah Bombell.
A Village of Support, Not a Waiting Room
The Mother Hub’s team includes midwives, GPs, counsellors, lactation consultants, osteopaths, psychologists, and diabetic educators, each with a shared goal of providing wraparound, compassionate support.
Instead of being shuffled between appointments, families experience a sense of continuity and collaboration. The clinicians work together behind the scenes, sharing insights and ensuring that every family’s story is truly understood.
“It’s about preventing people from slipping through the cracks,” says Dr Bombell. “When you have a newborn or you’re recovering postnatally, the last thing you need is to retell your story five times.”
This collaborative approach means that physical health, emotional wellbeing, and family needs are treated as inseparable, not separate boxes to tick.
Empowering Families Through Education and Choice
At the heart of The Mother Hub is empowerment. With over 25 years of experience in women’s and children’s health and as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 2008, Dr Bombell has guided thousands of women through pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
She believes that informed care isn’t just about treatment, it’s about understanding options, learning to trust your instincts, and feeling supported every step of the way.
From breastfeeding challenges and postnatal recovery to diabetes education and musculoskeletal concerns, The Mother Hub’s clinicians are there to listen, educate, and guide.
“There’s no one-size-fits-all in motherhood,” says Dr Bombell. “Our job is to help families make the decisions that feel right for them.”
The practice has continued to grow since opening in 2021, with new services and programs in development, including a day-stay facility, antenatal education, and mothers’ groups in the works for the near future.
Because Mental Health Is Health
The Mother Hub also recognises that emotional wellbeing deserves the same level of attention as physical recovery. Their mental health team provides support for perinatal anxiety and depression, grief, birth trauma, and general adjustment to parenthood.
By offering psychological and counselling services alongside medical and allied care, The Mother Hub ensures that clients receive holistic support, addressing the whole person, not just the symptom.
“Healing begins the moment someone feels seen, heard, and understood,” says Dr Bombell. “We want people to know that reaching out for help is a sign of strength.”
This emphasis on mental health has helped reduce stigma and create an environment where families can talk openly about the realities of parenthood - the beautiful, the messy, and everything in between.
The Heart of The Mother Hub
What sets The Mother Hub apart isn’t just its range of services, it’s the heart behind them. Every clinician shares a genuine passion for nurturing families, advocating for women, and helping parents feel confident in their journey.
Dr Bombell describes it best:
“It’s a privilege to walk alongside families during such a transformative time in their lives. Watching them grow in confidence, strength, and connection, that’s what drives us every day.”
For families seeking a healthcare experience that feels more human, more connected, and more holistic and The Mother Hub is that missing piece.
