Tell us a bit about yourself?

Wife, mum of 4, daughters 16 and 17 and twin 12 yo boys and woman in business! Founder of Danielle Cleary Events and the new look Canberra Fair “Inspiration for any occasion” keeps me busy with a job I love, meeting new people and supporting and promoting local Canberra business.

What were you doing before children?

Enjoying the freedom of travel & nights out.

How did you come to be a mum?

Delighted to have 2 daughters close in age, as I am with my sister and then introduce my “terrors” twin boys into our family.

What was your feeding journey been like?

Breastfeeding all of my children was a great experience to bond, enjoy the closeness with bubs in our own special quiet time. The twin thing was tricky, feeding 1 then the immediately after the 2nd (1 breast for 1 bub and the other for the other lol).

What has sleep been like in your house?

My 1st baby slept by my side in my bed, then in a cot next to my bed where I could hold her hand to send to her sleep, this changed with bub no.2 a great sleeper and happy to settle in her own room, as were my twin boys. Today, many years on, I still can’t enjoy a sleep with my little men keen to jump in for a snuggle and back tickle.

The hardest bits…

Navigating newborn twins and a new way to do things with all 4 and then there's raising teenage girls, say no more….

The best bits…

Creating a beautiful family and loving all the special moments we have created & continue to create on life’s journey.

How do you manage the balancing act for your family and yourself?

I do tend to put my children’s needs 1st but feel confident I still have my ‘own time’ and with hubby to still be me.

What’s next for you and your family?

Growing together through the teenage years and excited to learn of our children’s chosen pathways into adulthood.

If you could talk to your pre baby/kid self, what advice would you give?

Enjoy your time carefree because everything changes when baby is born…
