Tell us a bit about yourself?
I am 29 years old with 2 beautiful children so far, hopefully one more soon. I work full time in defence and a gamer at home.
What were you doing before babies?
I was studying to become a vet nurse but I fell pregnant with my first.
How did you come to be a mum?
I fell pregnant at 19 years old which was a massive shock. I was definitely scared and to be honest, she still scares me with the preteen attitude we get. I wouldn’t change it for the world though.
What has your feeding journey been like?
I didn’t breastfeed my daughter which I regret a lot as she was formula fed. With my son I breastfed for 5 months but I had massive supply issues, it was the hardest thing I have done but I am damn proud of myself!
What has sleep been like in your house?
I am so lucky both my babies have been good sleepers. My daughter sleeps all the time and my son only wakes up once during the night.
The hardest bits…
Definitely the breastfeeding, it was so tough at the start. The amount of tears and pain through that experience was just insane. I sadly never went to any of my mothers group catch ups as my anxiety got the best of me.
The best bits…
Every single time both my kids smile it makes the hard days worth it.
How do you make time for yourself?
I rarely get time to myself, always doing something between work, parenting and everything. I try to make sure I go get my brows done or a pedicure alone in peace and I feel like a new women after.
What’s next for you and your family?
My fiancé and I are getting married in Nov 2022 which is super exciting, hopefully a year after that we will try for our last baby while saving for our forever home.
A piece of advice for our readers?
Be kind to yourself, some days are tough. But the good days are so worth it. Never go to bed angry, take 5 mins to have a hot shower before bed and de-stress.
